Personal Vita for Jason W. Hinson

Jason W. Hinson was born on in Georgia to Billy and Shirly Hinson. After living in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee, his family settled in Mobile, Alabama in 1979. He attended John S. Shaw High School, where he met the love of his life, Tabitha L. Shellman, and graduated in the honors society in 1987. After a year of class work at the University of South Alabama, he moved from home and began attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). While there, he worked for UAH as a laboratory assistant in N.A.S.A.'s Magnetospheric Branch at the Marshall Space Flight Center. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from UAH, graduating Summa Cum Laude in May of 1991 with a double major in physics and mathematics. On August 10, 1991 Jason and Tabitha were married, and a week later they moved to West Lafayette, Indiana, where he began graduate work at Purdue University. In May of 1993, he received his Master of Science degree from Purdue. That year, Prof. Edward Shibata graciously agreed to be Jason's doctoral thesis advisor, and Jason began working as a graduate research assistant with a team led by Dr. David Koltick to help develop a scintillating fiber tracking system for the D0 experiment at Fermi National Laboratory. In June of 1994 Jason and Tabitha moved to Ithaca, NY, where he began his thesis research at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR) as a member of the CLEO collaboration. In 2000, Jason and Tabitha became the proud parents of Hannah Louise Hinson. Jason received his Ph.D. in physics from Purdue University in August of 2001, and in November that year he left the field of particle physics and began work as a Research Analyst at The CNA Corporation (CNAC, named after the Center for Naval Analysis). Jason and Tabitha were again blessed by the birth of a second child--their son, William Lee Hinson--in 2002. In October of 2005, while on a temporary CNAC assignment in Fort Walton Beach, FL, Jason accepted an offer from the Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to remain in the position on a permanent basis working as a Senior Systems Integration Analyst with the Joint Fires Integration and Interoperabilty Team (JFIIT). That organization has since transitioned to the Joint Deployable Analysis Team (JDAT) under the Joint Staff, and Jason continues working there as a Lead Analyst.
